class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>The European Commission has approved the extension of the suspension of trade rebalancing measures between the European Union and the United States until August 6, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3c908c1b elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"3c908c1b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-66e3c6b4 elementor-widget class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>These rebalancing measures, initially adopted in July 2025, included <strong>additional tariffs on imports from the United States<\/strong> and <strong>restrictions on certain EU exports<\/strong> in response to U.S. tariffs on <strong>steel and aluminum, automotive vehicles and components, aluminum cans, and a wide range of agricultural and industrial products.<\/strong><\/p><p>The extension of the suspension is part of the <strong>political agreement reached between the EU and the United States in July 2025<\/strong>, subsequently confirmed by a joint statement in August of the same year. Under this agreement, the United States undertook to <strong>immediately reduce tariffs on EU products<\/strong>, with a maximum rate of <strong>15% ad valorem<\/strong>, while both parties continue to work on the normalization of their trade relations. <\/p><p>With this decision, the Commission considers that <strong>it is not necessary for the time being to reactivate the retaliatory measures or to advance the WTO proceedings<\/strong>, as long as the implementation of the political agreement is maintained. However, the regulation makes it clear that the <strong>EU&#8217;s legal position remains unchanged<\/strong> and that it continues to consider the US safeguard measures to be incompatible with WTO rules. <\/p><p>The Commission will review the situation in the light of developments in bilateral trade relations and <strong>reserves the right to take further action<\/strong> in the event of
