class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>The European Commission presents the 20th package of sanctions against Russia, which extends restrictions in the areas of energy, financial services and trade, as well as additional measures to prevent circumvention of sanctions.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-44bad55b elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"44bad55b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7109ca5e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7109ca5e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>The 20th sanctions package is currently being proposed by the European Commission.<\/strong>  To enter into force, the measures must be formally approved by the Council of the European Union and published in the Official Journal. The final scope, including the technical lists and possible product codes affected, will be known once the corresponding regulation has been adopted. <\/p><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>New sanctions on exports of goods and services<\/strong><\/h5><p>The package incorporates <strong>new export bans to Russia<\/strong> affecting both industrial goods and specialized services, including:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Rubber products<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Tractors and certain industrial equipment<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Cybersecurity services<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br><strong>Restrictions on the export of goods and technologies used in the Russian military effort<\/strong>, including <strong>materials used in the manufacture of explosives<\/strong> and other sensitive products, are also tightened.<\/p><p>These measures are in addition to the already existing restrictions on dual-use goods and advanced technologies, broadening the scope of control over export flows from the European Union to Russia.<\/p><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Measures to prevent indirect exports and circumvention<\/strong><\/h5><p>In order to reinforce the effectiveness of the sanctioning regime, the Commission will activate for the first time the <strong>anti-circumvention instrument.<\/strong> This tool will make it possible to <strong>prohibit the export of certain products to third countries<\/strong> when there is a high risk that they will <strong>subsequently be re-exported to Russia<\/strong>. <\/p><p>Within this framework, the export ban is contemplated:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Numerical control machines (CNC)<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Radios and communication equipment<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>These restrictions will apply specifically to jurisdictions identified as having a <strong>high risk of re-export<\/strong>, introducing an additional control on indirect exports.<\/p><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Additional import restrictions<\/strong><\/h5><p>The package also includes <strong>new import bans from Russia<\/strong>, affecting:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Metals<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Chemicals<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Critical minerals<\/strong> not included so far in the sanctioning regimes.<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>In addition, <strong>a quota system for ammonia imports<\/strong> is proposed, with the objective of limiting the volumes currently imported.<\/p><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Other complementary measures<\/strong><\/h5><p>The new package is completed with:<\/p><ul><li>The extension of sanctions in the <strong>energy sphere<\/strong>, including a ban on maritime services for the transportation of Russian crude oil, conditional on a G7 decision.<\/li><li>New measures against the so-called &#8220;shadow fleet&#8221;, with the inclusion of 43 additional <strong>vessels<\/strong> on the sanctions list.<\/li><li>Additional restrictions on the <strong>Russian banking system<\/strong> and <strong>alternative payment channels<\/strong>, including measures related to cryptocurrencies.<\/li><li>Strengthened legal safeguards to protect EU companies against <strong>infringement of intellectual property rights<\/strong> or expropriation resulting from abusive court decisions in Russia.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
