new preferences and disciplines applicable to industrial goods and associated services.  <\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-488ecfdb elementor-widget advantages they could generate.<\/p><p>This note provides an overview of the main agreements under negotiation, their <strong>status<\/strong>, <strong>scope<\/strong> and <strong>expected commercial content<\/strong>.<\/p><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Australia<\/strong><\/h5><p><strong>Negotiation stage<\/strong><br><strong>Mature<\/strong> process, with widely developed texts and negotiation focused on sensitive chapters pending political closure.<\/p><p><strong>Scope of the agreement<\/strong><br>The agreement with Australia is designed as a comprehensive free trade agreement covering <strong>goods<\/strong>, services, investment, government procurement and trade facilitation, following an architecture comparable to that of other recent EU agreements with developed economies.<\/p><p><strong>Anticipated business benefits<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Elimination or reduction of tariffs on industrial <strong>goods<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Clear and stable rules of origin.<\/li><li>Disciplines on technical barriers to trade and conformity assessment.<\/li><li>Commitments in services related to industrial activity.<\/li><li>Opening of public procurement.<\/li><li>Customs facilitation measures.<\/li><\/ul><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>United Arab Emirates<\/strong><\/h5><p><strong>Negotiation stage<\/strong><br><strong>Intermediate<\/strong> process, started from scratch, with ongoing rounds and progressive definition of the chapter structure.<\/p><p><strong>Scope of the agreement<\/strong><br>The envisaged agreement is a comprehensive bilateral FTA that could cover <strong>goods<\/strong>, services, investment, government procurement, trade facilitation and digital trade, introducing for the first time a full preferential framework between the EU and UAE.<\/p><p><strong>Anticipated business benefits<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Introduction of tariff preferences on industrial <strong>goods<\/strong> that do not currently exist.<\/li><li>Definition of specific rules of origin.<\/li><li>Commitments in trade facilitation and customs cooperation.<\/li><li>Access to services and right of establishment.<\/li><li>Possible commitments in public procurement.<\/li><li>Disciplines in digital commerce.<\/li><\/ul><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Malaysia<\/strong><\/h5><p><strong>Negotiation stage<\/strong><br><strong>Intermediate<\/strong> process, following the reactivation of negotiations after a long period of suspension.<\/p><p><strong>Scope of the agreement<\/strong><br>The negotiation with Malaysia is oriented towards a bilateral FTA with a main focus on <strong>goods<\/strong>, complemented by chapters on services, investment and trade facilitation, in line with other EU bilateral agreements in Southeast Asia.<\/p><p><strong>Anticipated business benefits<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Progressive elimination of tariffs on industrial <strong>goods<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Rules of origin adapted to regional chains.<\/li><li>Chapters on technical barriers to trade and SPS measures.<\/li><li>Improvement of customs procedures.<\/li><li>Limited opening in services associated with industrial activity.<\/li><\/ul><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Thailand<\/strong><\/h5><p><strong>Negotiation stage<\/strong><br><strong>Green<\/strong> process, with recent political relaunch and first rounds, without consolidated texts.<\/p><p><strong>Scope of the agreement<\/strong><br>The agreement with Thailand is at an early stage, with a general FTA approach whose final scope &#8211; including <strong>goods<\/strong>, services or investment &#8211; has not yet been precisely defined.<\/p><p><strong>Potential commercial advantages<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Possible tariff reduction on industrial <strong>goods<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Possible commitments on technical barriers and trade facilitation.<\/li><li>Services and investment still undetermined.<\/li><\/ul><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Philippines<\/strong><\/h5><p><strong>Negotiation stage<\/strong><br><strong>Very incipient<\/strong> process, limited to exploratory contacts and without a fully defined negotiating mandate.<\/p><p><strong>Scope of the agreement<\/strong><br>At this stage there is no clear definition of the scope of the possible agreement, beyond the generic reference to an eventual FTA that could include <strong>goods<\/strong> at a later stage.<\/p><p><strong>Potential commercial advantages<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Eventual introduction of tariff preferences on industrial <strong>goods<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Basic trade facilitation commitments.<\/li><li>Regulatory and service content not yet determined.<\/li><\/ul><h5><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">_<\/span><br>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h5><p>Beyond Mercosur and India, the processes with <strong>Australia<\/strong>, the <strong>United Arab Emirates<\/strong> and <strong>Malaysia<\/strong> currently concentrate the highest density of potential trade opening in industrial <strong>goods<\/strong>, with different levels of maturity and certainty. For their part, <strong>Thailand<\/strong> and <strong>the Philippines<\/strong> remain in the initial stages and should be considered, for the time being, as medium-term follow-up processes rather than immediate sources of new trade preferences. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
