2026 World Cup. The funding will be managed through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and will strengthen services in areas near the stadiums. <\/p><p data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1536\">According to Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy, the goal is to <strong data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1394\">ensure that the country is prepared to host one of the world&#8217;s largest sporting events<\/strong> by making it easier for fans to get around safely and efficiently during the competition.<\/p><h5 data-section-id=\"1jy0ne5\" data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1592\"><strong>Support for transportation planning and operation<\/strong><\/h5><p data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"1960\">The funds may be used for planning, investment and operating expenses related to the matches and other events associated with the World Cup. The distribution of funds will be based on a formula that takes into account <strong data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"1921\">the capacity of the stadiums and the number of matches scheduled in each host city<\/strong>. <\/p><p data-start=\"1962\" data-end=\"2161\">In addition, the funding will be 100% federally funded and transportation agencies will be required to commit the use of the funds within one fiscal year of the completion of the tournament.<\/p><h5 data-section-id=\"1iejz9o\" data-start=\"2163\" data-end=\"2203\"><strong>2026 World Cup host cities<\/strong><\/h5><p data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2500\">The investments will be directed to the transportation systems of the U.S. cities that will host World Cup matches: <strong>Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, East Rutherford, Philadelphia, Santa Clara and Seattle.<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"2502\" data-end=\"2731\">These actions aim to facilitate the movement of millions of visitors and reinforce the capacity of mobility infrastructures during the tournament, considered one of the largest international sporting
