According to data from the Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira da Ind\u00fastria T\u00eaxtil e de Confec\u00e7\u00e3o (Abit), the textile sector recorded 4% growth in 2024 compared to 2023, while apparel grew by 3.8%.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Challenges in foreign trade<\/strong><\/h5>

In 2024, imports of textile and apparel products increased by 20.8%, while exports experienced a decrease of 3.8%, resulting in a trade deficit<\/strong>. Most of the imports came from China, posing challenges for the competitiveness of the domestic industry. <\/p>

Outlook for 2025<\/strong><\/h5>

Expectations for 2025 are optimistic. A survey conducted by Abit indicates that 45% of businessmen foresee a moderate growth<\/strong> of the domestic market, between 2.1% and 4%. In addition, 8% anticipate a significant increase in exports. <\/p>

In terms of investments, 42% of the companies plan to make moderate investments, focusing on machinery, technology and automation<\/strong>, while 31% are looking to expand their production capacity<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
