amec takes a historic step in its history with the integration of amec alimentec, amec aefemac and amec afespan into a single sectoral grouping, amec alimentec<\/strong>, which becomes the largest industrial community of food technology and ingredients in Spain and the largest grouping of the entire organization.<\/p>

With 96 companies as members, the new amec alimentec consolidates itself as the main industrial community of food technology in Spain, strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange between companies in the sector, boosting their internationalization and reinforcing the influence capacity of a strategic industry for the economy and for global food safety.<\/p>

This integration responds to a vision shared by the companies in the sector of strengthening their representativeness, gaining capacity for action and having a single voice before international institutions, organizations and markets.<\/p>

Joan Caba, president of Grupo Caba and president of amec alimentec, assures that “at amec we are convinced that companies grow and become stronger when they help each other, when they share and defend their interests together. Community is what makes everything we do possible. This merger is born precisely from that community. <\/em><\/strong>“<\/p>

A natural evolution based on years of collaboration<\/strong><\/p>

The integration of the three groups is the result of years of consolidated collaboration. Each had built its own structure, with its own presidencies and councils, reflecting the diversity and weight of the sector. Now, from this solid base, the merger unifies the structures to gain agility in decision-making and reinforce their institutional projection. <\/p>

A strategic sector demanding stronger representation<\/strong><\/p>

The agri-food industry is one of the country’s major economic engines and the main manufacturing activity in Spain. With a turnover of close to 179,000 million euros and more than 560,000 jobs, it accounts for more than a quarter of industrial manufacturing activity and close to a quarter of its employment. <\/p>

Faced with these magnitudes, the food technology and ingredients manufacturing industry requires solid structures capable of defending its interests, promoting its development and strengthening its international presence.<\/p>

The new amec alimentec represents an essential part of this value chain. Its companies have a total turnover of more than 3,599 million euros, generate 11,340 direct jobs and export more than 213 million euros, consolidating one of the largest concentrations of food technology and ingredients companies in the country. <\/p>

The largest industrial food technology community in the country<\/strong><\/p>

With this integration, amec alimentec is positioned as the reference association for companies that develop technological solutions, equipment, processes and ingredients for food manufacturing.<\/p>

Its size and representativeness will enable it to play a decisive role in areas such as the defense of sectorial interests, business collaboration, industrial promotion, internationalization, innovation and talent. In this sense, Caba emphasizes that “the merger of amec alimentec allows us to represent with greater strength a strategic industry for the economy and for the food of the future.<\/em><\/strong>“. <\/p>
